For the conclusion of our Spring season we will be having closing ceremonies on Wednesday June 19 beginning at 6 PM. The ceremony will honor all of our major and minor league players and there will be award presentations to our champion teams and outstanding players. An all star game for 12 year old major league players will then be played immediately after the ceremonies. Please come out and salute our boys and stay and watch many of our most talented players compete as 12 year olds from the National League teams face the American League twelves.

Baseball in Lakeville will continue throughout the summer and fall. We will field summer all star teams in the 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old age groups in 2013. The ten, eleven and twelve year old teams will be participating in the official Little League tournaments for their age group sanctioned by Little League International, as well as other local tournaments throughout the summer. The eight and nine year old teams will be participating in local summer tournaments as well. Practices will be held at Ted Williams Camp beginning the week of June 17 running throughout the summer. Tryouts for the teams will be in mid June with specific details to be announced. There will be no fee for the tryout; however successful candidates will be required to pay a $100 fee for participation on the all star team.

We will also be offering competitive fall league baseball programs based along the lines of our successful fall programs over the last three years. Details about the fall program will be announced at closing ceremonies.

Lakeville Little League will again be participating in all star play this summer beginning at the conclusion of the regular season on June 15. We will be looking to build on the success of last year when several of our teams won summer tournaments and of course the ten year old all star team won the Eastern Region Little League championship.

We will field teams in the 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 year old age groups in 2013. We may also be fielding “B” teams this year in those age groups where there are enough players.

If you would like to be a part of the all star program as a manager or coach, please email your interest to lakevillelittleleague@comcast.net prior to May 23, 2013. Please indicate in your email the age of your son and whether you are looking to manage or coach. Please also indicate whether you would be available to coach a “B” team. The Board will be meeting in late May to decide on all star managers and finalize all star details.
